GTA 6 Leaks: The "Procedural Glass" Patent That Changes Shootouts Forever
While everyone is obsessing over the size of the Leonida map, the true revolution in Grand Theft Auto VI lies in the micro-details. A recent leak from a former Rockstar Games graphics programmer's resume has confirmed the development of a "next-generation procedural breakable glass system" for vehicles and props.
What is Procedural Destruction?
In previous GTA titles, breaking a window resulted in a pre-animated shattering effect. You shoot it, it breaks exactly the same way every time.
The new procedural system means the RAGE engine calculates the exact point of impact, the velocity of the projectile, and the material of the object. If you hit a car windshield with a baseball bat, it will spiderweb and dent dynamically. If you shoot a shotgun into a storefront, the glass will shatter into thousands of physics-based shards that react to gravity and wind.
The Impact on Gameplay and Roleplay
This level of interactivity has massive implications. Drive-by shootings will be far more visceral, and tactical police responses will have to account for real-time environmental destruction. For the SixM roleplay community, this means that vehicle accidents will look and feel incredibly realistic, requiring actual mechanic intervention rather than a simple repair command.
Are you ready?
Rendering thousands of procedural physics shards in real-time is no small task.
